Videos

mHealth4Afrika has leveraged a user-centred multi-stakeholder co-design and Collaborative Open Innovation based approach. mHealth4Afrika has worked in partnership with Ministries of Health, District Health Offices, Clinics Managers and nurses in primary healthcare facilities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi and South Africa as well as specialist clinics and county and referral hospitals to inform required functionality, workflow and usability requirements.

This video shares user experiences from a number of intervention health facilities as well as feedback from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation of Bungoma County, Kenya as at April 2019.

mHealth4Afrika is a HL7 FHIR-compliant patient-centric health platform that interacts with DHIS2 via a WebAPI. Co-designed and validated with Ministries of Health, District Health Officers, Clinic Managers and Health Workers in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi and South Africa, it strengthens healthcare delivery in resource constrained environments by integrating EHR and EMR functionality with use of medical sensors, analytical and visualisation tools, decision support and SMS appointment reminders. mHealth4Afrika is co-funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program (Grant No. 688015).

This video shares insights into motivation, methodology, functionality and achievements to date of mHealth4Afrika as at 30 April 2019.
